Are you easily offended?\u00a0You know —\u00a0one of those who seem to be on a constant witch-hunt to find, and gratuitously take offense?\u00a0Do you interject\u00a0your indignity\u00a0and troubled\u00a0feelings (even about the smallest of things)\u00a0at\u00a0the drop of a hat? Do you\u00a0rage incessantly with\u00a0some kind of inconsolable need to\u00a0find something wrong and then spin the whole thing around and make\u00a0it all\u00a0about you?\u00a0To be clear,\u00a0there\u00a0are those who seem\u00a0to\u00a0be obsessively engaged in\u00a0their own little\u00a0quest\u00a0to get even with the world by\u00a0winning the “offended”\u00a0lottery. These people\u00a0are\u00a0very\u00a0determined and extremely\u00a0focused on\u00a0one\u00a0overriding\u00a0life altering obsession\u00a0— to be the easiest and most offended person ever! Are you one of those? If so, then please,\u00a0come right\u00a0in and sit down, and let’s have a nice little talk just you and me.<\/p>\n
Now,\u00a0I’m gonna\u00a0try\u00a0and\u00a0put this\u00a0across in\u00a0the simplest way that I know how so that hopefully\u00a0you’ll understand;\u00a0STOP IT!!! Stop being that way — it’s extremely unbecoming, and ultimately a real pain in the neck\u00a0for the rest of us. That’s right, you heard me\u00a0— quit acting like some demented hoity-toity better than everyone\u00a0spoiled rotten\u00a0stinky little\u00a0brat! You’re not society’s Lord\u00a0and Overseer, and in most\u00a0cases\u00a0you’re not anywhere near as smart as you think you are. Just take a step back, breathe and\u00a0consider all the ramifications of throwing\u00a0your stinky little\u00a0fits — forcing upon everyone else the absurdity\u00a0of\u00a0just how offended you are.\u00a0Exercise a\u00a0tiny bit of social awareness and STOP BEING LIKE THAT!!!<\/p>\n
You’ll be all right, I promise. Life will go on, and you just may be pleasantly surprised at how much easier it is to get along with others. Why? Because that’s just kinda how it all works!<\/p>\n
Now, that’s not to say that we’re never supposed to take offense at anything. But, there’s\u00a0a time, place, and reason for everything.\u00a0Your problem\u00a0is that you don’t subscribe to\u00a0any of that — you just throw-up being offended all over the place for everybody to see!<\/p>\n
Wait a minute, what’s that? You take offense at what I’m saying, and how I’m saying it? Well, guess what? That offends ME! Do you see what you’ve\u00a0gone and done?\u00a0Now I’M\u00a0offended! I’m offended that\u00a0you’re offended, and\u00a0you have no idea at just how offended I can get. Let’s just put it this way — I invented the “offended lottery,” and\u00a0can get really, really, really offended! My face gets all red and\u00a0maroon in color,\u00a0I stomp around, rant\u00a0and yell,\u00a0and believe me —\u00a0everyone\u00a0around me knows\u00a0when I’m offended, by gosh!<\/p>\n
So, if I were you —\u00a0I’d be\u00a0a little more\u00a0focused on NOT\u00a0offending ME!!!\u00a0Why? Because I fancy\u00a0MY being offended to be\u00a0much more important and news-worthy than\u00a0any of yours!<\/p>\n
Yea……………! That was\u00a0some pretty tough talk,\u00a0eh?\u00a0Did you notice how\u00a0ridiculously rude\u00a0and full of myself\u00a0that all sounded? Get the point?<\/p>\n
So, back\u00a0to what we were originally talking about —\u00a0do you think that you could possibly bring\u00a0it down\u00a0a few notches on the whole letting yourself\u00a0become so easily offended? It would sure\u00a0be nice if you did, and I can guarantee you that many\u00a0of us\u00a0would\u00a0surely be grateful. I also\u00a0believe that it would greatly contribute toward\u00a0making the\u00a0world a much better place, I really do!<\/p>\n
